| WO2005039748 A UPAB: 20050613 NOVELTY - Device for increasing the fuel concentration in a liquid mixture of fuel and carrier comprises a fuel storage unit with a flow passage comprising a membrane that is permeable to the fuel but not to the carrier, the transport properties of the membrane being such that fuel can be passively added to the mixture flowing through the passage. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for increasing the fuel concentration in a liquid mixture of fuel and carrier by passing the mixture through a device as above. USE - The device is useful for increasing the fuel concentration in a liquid mixture of fuel and carrier, especially an alcohol-water mixture supplied to the anode of a direct methanol fuel cell.
