BRENNSTOFFZELLEN-SYSTEM IN LEITERPLATTENBAUWEISE (2005)

Abstract
WO2003085760 A UPAB: 20031125 NOVELTY - Planar fuel cell system comprises fuel cells electrically mounted in series using horizontally overlapping connecting lugs and/or strip conductors, and a polymer electrolyte membrane. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Planar fuel cell system comprises at least two fuel cells electrically mounted in series using horizontally overlapping connecting lugs and/or strip conductors, and a polymer electrolyte membrane. The current path is guided around the polymer electrolyte membrane (3'). The fuel cell system is formed as a composite of a first circuit board (10) on the anode side and a second circuit board on the cathode side. Current collectors (1) and the connecting lugs are formed as strip conductors of the circuit plates. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for producing a fuel cell system comprising: applying a metallization on a circuit board support so that one circuit board is produced by laminating metal foils or thin sheets of copper, nickel, gold, titanium, high grade steel and/or their alloys on the circuit board material; back etching or cutting the metallization to produce strip conductors; forming gas distribution structures (6) in the circuit board; and applying diffusion layers. USE - Used as a planar fuel cell system. ADVANTAGE - The fuel cell system can be mass produced.
