| In order to facilitate the exchange, search, acquisition and use of learning objects it is necessary to describe them on the basis of their metadata. To use them effectively, there is needed a certain degree of standardisation. Therefore the IEEE developed the Learning Object Metadata. With LOM learning contents are described in such a way, that they can be used in other applications. To build connections between learning materials, they have to be compared based on their descriptive metadata. Primary metadata were worked out for the comparison of learning modules. Furthermore they were evaluated and in addition necessary settlement proceedings were developed. Following this was converted into a module written in Java. With help of the Metadata Extraction Framework (MEX) metadata in form of the Learning Object Metadata (LOM) could be extracted from learning modules. This was used as the basis of this voucher. | |||||||||||
