| Compressed Air Energy Storage (CAES) is successfully applied since decades. The report shows basic functionality of the CAES plants Huntorf and McIntosh and compares them regarding technical parameters. Special attention is paid to the retrofit of the Huntorf plant. Furthermore alternative CAES process concepts are presented and explained. Finally the adequacy of different CAES process concepts on the basis of application scenarios is discussed and evaluated. | |||||||||||
