DE 102007058971 A1 UPAB: 20090629 NOVELTY - The device has a light trap (4) and solar cells (6) i.e. thin layer solar cells, coupled with the light trap. The light trap has a light entry surface for coupling of solar light (1) in the light trap at a side facing the solar light, where the light trap is made of glass and/or transparent plastic. A device i.e. diffuser reflector, is provided for diffuse reflection or dispersion of the solar light coupled in the light trap. A reflecting structure is provided for reflecting the reflected and/or dispersed solar light for preventing discharging of the reflected and/or dispersed solar light. USE - Photovoltaic-device for direct conversion of solar energy into electrical energy (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The utilization of the light trap permits achieving efficient concentration of the solar light. The structure is provided for reflecting the reflected and/or dispersed solar light for preventing emission of the reflected and/or dispersed solar light, thus increasing light intensity in the inner side of the light trap. The solar cells can be separated in an optimized matter and consist of different semiconductor materials, thus avoiding the need for the crystal grid adjustment. The individual solar cells do not produce exactly the same current, which is necessary during series connection of the stack cells. The device avoids the need for technical complex tunnel diode. The device is independent of changes of the spectral distribution of the radiation, when the solar cells are contacted separately for different spectral ranges. The device exhibits better optimization and higher efficiency regarding the conversion of solar energy into electrical energy.
