| In this paper, we describe a color segmentation based on thenormalized RGB chromaticity diagram to extract the symbols andcharacters of road guidance signs. The proposed methodseparates blue color of the signs by utilizing the developedhistogram on the normalized RGB chromaticity diagram forselecting the threshold automatically. The image morphologyoperator and the histogram projection technique are employed toextract the symbols and characters. From the experiments on thereal scene images, the extraction rate of 97.3% is achieved. | |||||||||
